Five Cypriots have made it onto the Sunday Times Rich List, ranking among the top 100 wealthiest individuals in the United Kingdom.
The richest Cypriot on the list is Norwegian shipping magnate John Fredriksen, who obtained Cypriot citizenship through naturalization. He ranks among the top ten British billionaires with a fortune of £12.9 billion (€15.1 billion).
Alki David, along with the Leventis family, secured the 60th spot on the list. Their wealth is estimated at £2.9 billion (€3.4 billion). David, born in Nigeria to Cypriot parents, is the major shareholder of Leventis-David Group, which owns Coca-Cola bottling plants in 28 countries.
John Christodoulou, a property developer, occupies the 70th position with a fortune of £2.5 billion (€2.9 billion).
The Lazaris family, property owners, clinched the 74th spot with a wealth of £2.4 billion (€2.4 billion).
Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of the Easy Group, secured the 95th position with a fortune of £1.8 billion (€2.1 billion).
India-born magnate Gopi Hinduja tops the list as Britain's wealthiest individual, with an estimated fortune of £37.2 billion (€43.5 billion). Ukrainian-born Sir Leonard Blavatnik, owner of Warner Music Group, comes second with £29.2 billion (€34.1 billion).
It's worth noting that the number of billionaires in Britain has decreased for the first time since the 2007-2008 financial crisis.
