Gas Platform Worker in Cyprus Airlifted to Hospital After Sudden Illness
A worker from a natural gas extraction platform in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone to the southeast of the island was urgently airlifted to the American Medical Center for emergency treatment.

As a result, a quick evacuation to the American Medical Center was required. The Search and Rescue Operations Coordination Center immediately mobilized a Republic helicopter, which flew out to the platform, picked up the patient, and landed at the hospital's helipad.
