Over 2,000 Illegal Immigrants Deported from Cyprus Since the Start of the Year
Cyprus police have carried out another coordinated operation to repatriate foreigners residing illegally in the Republic of Cyprus. This is the country's second participation in joint FRONTEX operations in 2025.
On February 22, 14 nationals from third countries were repatriated on a joint return flight organized by the Italian authorities, with the Cyprus police also involved.
Since the beginning of the year, 2,056 individuals who were living in Cyprus illegally have been repatriated, either voluntarily or by force. This is an increase from the same period last year, when the number stood at 1,639.
Later today, a further repatriation operation is planned. FRONTEX, along with German authorities and the Cyprus police, will be involved in the repatriation of 10 nationals from a third country.
