Limassol - Paphos highway closed due to fire near the tunnel

Today, around noon, a fire broke out south of the village of Sotira in the Limassol region. The fire's epicenter is near the tunnel on the Limassol - Paphos highway.
Cyprus police have closed the road in both directions. Drivers are advised to use the old road, not to exceed the speed limit, keep a safe distance, and follow the instructions of traffic police officers.
The fire service's press office reported that the fire started among dry grass and wild vegetation. Four aircraft crews are fighting the blaze. Firefighters are also assisted by staff from the Forestry Department and the British bases.
