Strong wind causes a series of incidents across Cyprus
The powerful wind that hit Cyprus caused a number of incidents in different areas of the island. The majority of incidents were reported in the capital.
The Cyprus Fire Service was placed on high alert. In Nicosia alone, emergency services responded 12 times: ten cases due to fallen trees and two due to torn pergolas and awnings.
The mayor of the capital reported that municipal crews and the SupportCY team were prepared in advance and promptly began addressing the aftermath of the severe weather.
In Limassol, four incidents were recorded: two fallen trees, damage to a metal roof, and a short circuit in an electrical cable. In Famagusta, strong winds uprooted a tree.

Authorities urge residents and visitors of the island to exercise extra caution, particularly avoiding parking cars under trees and temporary structures.
