Fatal Road Accident on Highway Near Exit to Xylofagou
On Friday evening, a fatal traffic accident occurred on the motorway near the first exit to Xylofagou. A man was killed after being struck by a passing vehicle while attempting to change a tire on his car, which was parked in the emergency lane.
According to the British Bases Police, the incident happened at around 21:45. Due to the crash, a section of the motorway was temporarily closed, and traffic was redirected via alternative routes. The road was fully reopened to traffic at approximately 01:15 a.m.
The driver of the second vehicle has been detained. The investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy is ongoing.
