Another Arson Attack: Two Cars Burned Near the Racecourse in Nicosia
Nicosia witnessed yet another arson attack on vehicles as two cars were set ablaze last night near the racecourse.
According to the police press service, the fire broke out around three o'clock in the morning in a parking lot on Dimokratias Street in Agios Dometios. Two company-owned cars, parked opposite the racecourse, caught fire.
Firefighters swiftly responded to the scene and managed to extinguish the blaze. However, both vehicles suffered significant damage.
The police have cordoned off the area and are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Initial assessments suggest that the cars were deliberately set on fire.
It's worth noting that this is not the first arson incident in the area in recent days. Over the past weekend, Cyprus experienced a series of major fires. Particularly, early on Sunday morning, a fire erupted in a metal electricity transmission tower at the racecourse in Agios Dometios.
