Pyrgos Stadium to Become Training Base for Cyprus National Teams
The Cyprus Football Association has signed an agreement with the Pyrgos Community Council granting the right to use the local stadium for the training of Cyprus national teams.
The document was signed by the federation's president, Harris Loizides, and the head of the Pyrgos Community Council, Stavroulla Vasiliou. The agreement is set for four years.
Using the stadium will improve preparation conditions for national teams. Following modernization, the pitch will also be available for friendly matches involving youth national teams.
Under the agreement, the federation will fund the renovation of changing rooms, a training room, public sanitary facilities, and the creation of a medical office.
In turn, the Pyrgos Community Council undertakes to upgrade the stadium lighting within six months and bring the dimensions of the playing field in line with FIFA standards.
The stadium is located in a convenient part of the island, facilitating access for players and coaching staff from different regions of Cyprus. Additionally, it is situated near the Kornos area, where the construction of a sports center for national teams is planned, further enhancing the site's strategic importance.
