Tornado in Avgorou: a powerful vortex lifted a car into the air

A strong tornado swept through the community of Avgorou in eastern Cyprus on Tuesday afternoon, leaving behind serious damage. Powerful gusts uprooted trees, tore down structures, and damaged residents’ property.

Eyewitnesses reported that the element struck suddenly and lasted only a short time, but the consequences were significant.

Municipal services and residents have begun clearing up the damage.
