Woman Diver Rescued Near Zenobia Wreck in Larnaca
A woman diver who went missing near the wreck of the Zenobia ship in Larnaca was rescued over the weekend. Fortunately, she was unharmed, and her life is not at risk.
According to the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC), the authorities were alerted about the missing diver at the wreck site on Saturday at around 1:30 PM. The woman had disappeared after diving in this popular location.
In response, two boats from the Port and Marine Police, a helicopter from the Air Operations Unit of the Cyprus Police, a patrol unit from the Larnaca Police Department, and two rescue teams from the Larnaca District Administration were sent to the scene. The Atlantis ferry also joined the search efforts.
Thanks to the quick work of the rescuers, the woman was located, brought safely to shore, and handed over to an ambulance for a routine medical check-up by the Public Health Services.
