Man with Fake European Passport Arrested at Larnaca Airport
A man of Arab descent was arrested at Larnaca Airport for possessing a fake European passport. Authorities are examining the notes and drawings found in his possession for potential links to terrorist activities.
Police reported that the suspicious man was found lying on the airport premises on Monday morning. He presented a European passport belonging to someone else and was subsequently arrested for impersonation.
The man was carrying a notebook with handwritten notes and drawings, which authorities are currently investigating. With assistance from Interpol and Europol, efforts are underway to confirm his identity, as he claimed to be of Arab descent.
So far, no links to terrorist activities have been discovered. Yesterday, he appeared before the Larnaca District Court and was remanded in custody for six days.
