Fourth Suspect Arrested in Drug Case at Paphos Airport
The Cyprus Police have apprehended a fourth suspect in connection with the case involving 70 kilograms of drugs. The man, who was wanted by the authorities, was arrested at Paphos Airport.
According to the police press office, the detained individual is already known to law enforcement due to past legal issues. He had been on the run for a week. Police had previously obtained witness testimonies suggesting that the large quantity of drugs seized in Limassol belonged to him. The police have not disclosed the detainee’s identity.
It is known that the suspect arrived at Paphos Airport from abroad and was immediately taken into custody. He is expected to appear before the Limassol District Court later today.
To recap, a major drug seizure took place in Limassol on August 21, when over 70 kilograms of various illegal substances were found in a parked vehicle.
Yesterday’s arrest marks the fourth in this investigation; three other individuals are already in custody.
