Two-Hour Warning Strike Announced at EAC for February 27
Four unions of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) have announced a two-hour warning strike on February 27 from 08:00 to 10:00 AM.
The following unions are participating in the action:
- ΕΠΟΠΑΗ
- ΣΗΔΗΚΕΚ
- ΣΕΠΑΗΚ
- ΣΥΒΑΗΚ
In a joint statement, the unions cited "inefficient energy policy," a lack of strategic planning, and rising electricity costs. Issues regarding the disconnection of residential solar panels and risks of power supply interruptions were also mentioned.
Employee representatives emphasized their intention to protect the organization and consumer interests, stating that their actions are aimed at safeguarding the country's economy and its citizens.
The unions also pointed to unresolved labor issues which, in their view, hinder the normal functioning of the organization.
