See the Perseids and a Supermoon in August in Cyprus
Cyprus residents have an exciting celestial event to look forward to this August. The Kition Planetarium and Observatory is hosting its 17th annual Perseids meteor shower viewing. The peak of the meteor shower is expected on August 12.
This year, the event will take place at the KiteMed kitesurfing club in Softades on August 11 at 7:30 PM, and another viewing will be held in Kyperounta on August 12 at 8:00 PM. For more information, you can call 99-991111.
In addition to the Perseids, a supermoon will grace the skies from August 17-19. During this time, the moon will be at its closest point to Earth, making it appear larger and brighter.
To celebrate this event, the Kition Planetarium and Observatory will host a special event at their location in Kiti on August 17 at 7:30 PM.
The participation fee is 10 euros, and advance booking is required. The presentation will be in English.
