Young Paralimni Football Club Newcomer Dies in Cyprus Car Accident
A 20-year-old newcomer to ENP Football Club (FC Enosis Neon Paralimniou) tragically died in a car accident in Cyprus. Paul Julius, a Nigerian forward, was involved in a crash on the Paralimni-Protaras highway.
According to police reports, the fatal accident occurred early Tuesday morning, around 6:30 AM, on Protara Avenue in Paralimni. The driver lost control of the vehicle before the Kamitsi traffic light and veered into the oncoming lane, resulting in a head-on collision with an SUV. Preliminary investigations suggest that the footballer was driving the sedan.
Both drivers were rushed to the general hospital in Paralimni by ambulance.
Tragically, the 20-year-old ENP player sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by doctors. The second driver’s life is not in danger.
Paul Julius, the 20-year-old Nigerian forward, had recently joined the Paralimni football club at the end of July.
- “With deep sorrow, we express our heartfelt condolences for the unexpected loss of our player Paul Julius, who was involved in a car accident this morning. The tragic news of his death has shocked all of us,” the team said in a statement on social media.
