In Famagusta, a quad bike caught fire while in motion. One person was injured as a result of the incident.
According to emergency services, the Famagusta fire department was alerted yesterday evening shortly after 20:00. A rented quad bike caught fire on the Paralimni - Protaras road while in motion.
Andreas Ketti, a spokesperson for the fire department, stated that the quad bike was heavily damaged by the fire. Flames also spread to trees along the roadside. The person riding the bike sustained minor injuries and was taken to Famagusta Hospital by ambulance.
Preliminary information suggests that the fire was caused by mechanical or electrical malfunction.
It is also noted that over the past 24 hours, the fire service responded to 41 incidents: 24 fires and 17 incidents requiring rescue intervention.
