Two 18-year-old tourists rescued in the mountains near Lagoudera

An incident with a positive outcome occurred in a mountainous area near the community of Lagoudera. Two 18-year-old young people lost their bearings during a hiking trip and became trapped in a gorge from which they could not escape on their own.
Using ropes and special rescue equipment, rescuers extracted the young people from the hard-to-reach and steep terrain, at a depth of about 350 meters.
After that, the victims were escorted on foot along a nature trail for a distance of about two kilometers to a roadway, where they were handed over to an ambulance crew. The young people were taken to Kyperounta Hospital for medical examination.
