"Traditional Christmas Tale" to Open in Laiki Geitonia
The Christmas village themed "Traditional Christmas Tale" will take place in Laiki Geitonia from November 23, 2024, to January 6, 2025.
In a statement from the Municipality of Nicosia, it was announced that the festive area, set within the historic walls of the city, will immerse guests in the rich stories and traditions of Christmas, providing them with the feeling of participating in a traditional holiday fairy tale stroll.
The Christmas village will host a variety of musical and theatrical events, featuring performances by choirs, dance ensembles, and musical groups. There will also be a puppet theater and Santa's workshop, where children can send letters to Santa Claus.
Visitors can explore small shops, merchant stalls, and creative workshops. The festive atmosphere will be enhanced by colorful lanterns, bright decorations, and beautifully adorned Christmas trees.
Additionally, wine tasting stands, commandaria, and distilled zivania will be available, alongside the preparation and sale of traditional Cypriot dishes, pastries, sweets, and street food.
The official opening day of the Christmas village is set for Saturday, November 23. A detailed program of events, including operating days and hours, will be announced soon.
