A woman was sentenced to 12 years in Larnaca for bringing more than 22 kg of cannabis to Cyprus
The Permanent Criminal Court of Larnaca on November 10, 2025, sentenced a 39-year-old woman from Greece, who was found guilty of importing and possessing drugs with the intention of distributing them to others, as well as conspiracy to commit a crime.
According to the police, the accused arrived in Cyprus on the evening of August 19 on a flight from Milan via Greece and was detained after a baggage check.
As a result of joint actions by the Anti-Narcotics Service and customs authorities, 40 packages containing cannabis with a total weight of approximately 22 kilograms and 546 grams were found in her belongings.
The woman pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 12 years in prison by a decision of the Larnaca court.
The arrest and subsequent sentencing followed the exchange and evaluation of evidence between law enforcement agencies, the police said. No information on other participants or further procedural steps is provided in the statement.
