A dog went missing in Larnaca, leaving two puppies behind — Greens Movement says
An incident involving the disappearance of a dog, which was reported on social media, occurred in the Larnaca area of Cyprus. The female dog, which had been cared for by local animal lovers for some time, has gone missing, according to the Greens Movement – Citizens’ Cooperation; her two puppies were left behind.
According to the movement, there are other animals in the wider area that are being cared for by residents. The movement has received an official complaint regarding the case and stated its intention to take the necessary steps so that the competent authorities conduct a prompt and effective investigation.
The statement also recalls that Cypriot legislation prohibits the release or abandonment of an animal under human care for the purpose of getting rid of it. In addition, the law prohibits, without justified reason, subjecting any animal to pain, suffering, injury, or fear (paragraph 3).
The Greens Movement calls on anyone who has any information about the circumstances of the dog’s disappearance to contact the police. For residents, this means that if they have information about similar cases, they should immediately inform law enforcement authorities to initiate an investigation.
