In Larnaca, an additional 18 fixed road cameras have been activated
In Larnaca, the system of traffic cameras has been expanded. The police announced the commissioning of 18 fixed cameras installed at key locations throughout the city.
According to the police statement, four cameras have been activated at the intersection of Spiros Kyprianou and Alexandros Panagoulis streets to monitor violations such as running red lights, crossing white lines, and speeding.
Additionally, four more cameras are installed at the intersections of Artemidos and Faneromenis streets and Spiros Kyprianou Avenue with Luther King and Pavlos Valsamidis streets. They will monitor the same violations.
Two more cameras will observe similar violations at the intersection of Archbishop Makarios and Archbishop Kyprianou streets.
Furthermore, two cameras each are installed along the road at the 8th and 15th kilometers of the Larnaca – Dhekelia highway. They will monitor compliance with speed limits at the 8th and 15th kilometers.
The police statement emphasizes that the primary goal of installing these cameras remains the reduction of serious and fatal road traffic incidents.
