On Saturday, October 25, the Art Explora Festival opened in the Limassol Marina. The event, co-funded by the European Union, features a traveling museum ship that has already welcomed more than 300,000 visitors in Mediterranean ports.

The celebration transformed the port into a space of art and culture: guided tours of the museum-ship, official speeches, and a concert program took place at the Old Port Square. The evening continued with performances by the Limassol Philharmonic Orchestra, Kemal Deveci, Aziz Kahraman, Stelios Petrakkis and his ensemble, Michalis Tterlikkas and the Mousa Music group, Christa Papista with Jan Verwoert and Kanella Petropoulou; the night concluded with DJ sets by Koulla P. Katsikoronou and Harama.

Among the guests at the opening were Bruno Julliard, Director of the Art Explora Foundation, Yiannis Armeftis, Mayor of Limassol, and Salina Gréne-Catalano, Ambassador of France to Cyprus. The festival program is curated by the non-profit art space The Island Club.

Visitors can explore two immersive programs: “Mediterranean Soundscape” by IRCAM (Pompidou Center, Paris) and “Mediterranean Wonders” — a virtual reality experience developed by Ubisoft. The festival takes place across various venues in Limassol, including the Old Port Square, Molos, Rialto Theatre, and the Municipal Art Center – Papadaki Warehouses.

The festival is open and free to all from October 25 to November 4; the museum-ship is accessible until November 2. Opening hours: weekdays 10:00–21:00 (last entry 19:45), weekends 10:00–22:00 (last entry 20:45). Some shows and concerts require free pre-booking on the festival website.
