Defendant attacks Republic's attorney in Limassol immediately after sentencing

On April 3, 2026, in Limassol, Cyprus, at the Permanent Criminal Court building, a defendant attacked the Attorney of the Republic (Δικηγόρος της Δημοκρατίας) immediately after the sentencing, according to the Attorney General's press office.

According to the official report, the victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance for medical treatment; details regarding her condition have not yet been released.

The Attorney General (Γενικός Εισαγγελέας) immediately instructed the Chief of Police (Αρχηγό Αστυνομίας) to conduct a full investigation into the circumstances of the attack and to re-evaluate security measures concerning legal officers of the Law Office.
