In Limassol, a case of fraudulent real estate sale is being investigated
The Limassol police are investigating a real estate fraud case in which an elderly man lost a large sum of money. A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the case.
The report was filed by a 70-year-old resident of Cyprus. He stated that from June 2023 to January 2026 he handed over money to the suspect in installments — a total of €58,400. The funds were allegedly intended for the purchase of a residential house in one of the Limassol districts.
During verification, it was revealed that the mentioned property belongs to a third party and was never put up for sale. The procedure for transferring ownership was never initiated.
After collecting evidence, an arrest warrant was issued. The suspect was detained in Nicosia and brought to the Limassol district court, which ordered him to be held in custody for five days for further investigation.
