In Limassol, a money extortionist has been arrested for targeting a pensioner
On Tuesday, the Cyprus Republic Police arrested a 52-year-old resident of Limassol on charges of extortion.
An 83-year-old resident of a village in the Limassol area complained to the police about the actions of the culprit.
According to the victim's statement, the 52-year-old man allegedly extorted various sums of money from him 23 times under the pretext of helping him recover a piece of land he had lost several years ago.
In total, the scammer lured 12,830 euros from the victim.
The police arrested the suspect based on a warrant and placed him in custody for further investigation.
