Man Found Injured in Limassol: Friend Arrested for Illegal Stay in Cyprus
The Limassol police are investigating an assault involving a 29-year-old man who was found injured last night near an abandoned building. His friend, who reported the incident to emergency services, has since been arrested for staying in Cyprus illegally.
According to police, the incident took place around 1:10 AM. It’s believed that the young man was attacked by three assailants near the abandoned building. They struck him with an unknown object on his back before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.
The injured man was transported to Limassol General Hospital by ambulance. Doctors diagnosed him with a pneumothorax and admitted him to the hospital. His condition is described as serious but stable.
At the scene, officers found another 28-year-old man who appeared to be a friend of the victim. This man was the one who called for the ambulance.
Following further investigation, it was revealed that this second individual has been living in Cyprus illegally since 2022.
