In Limassol, drug traffickers were arrested after a night chase
In Limassol, a police chase unfolded last night involving a vehicle suspected of carrying drug traffickers. The police apprehended a 25-year-old man for possession of illegal drugs with the intent to distribute, money laundering, and multiple traffic violations.
According to the police press office, patrol officers noticed a suspicious man inside a parked car in the Limassol area. Upon approaching to check his documents, the driver fled, breaking several traffic laws in the process.
During the ensuing pursuit, the suspect leaped out of the moving vehicle in an attempt to evade capture. The car collided with a parked vehicle before coming to a stop.
The police swiftly apprehended the fleeing individual. Upon searching his vehicle, authorities discovered 3.5 grams of marijuana and 18 packets of cocaine, totaling approximately 11 grams.
The 25-year-old man underwent a drug test, which returned positive results. Furthermore, it was revealed that he was driving without a valid license or insurance certificate.
The Limassol Traffic Police and the Narcotics Unit (Ykan) are currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
