Collapse of Two Balconies in Limassol Residential Building
Early Wednesday morning in Limassol, two balconies of a residential building collapsed. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the incident.
The police were alerted by a security guard from a private hospital located opposite the building where the collapse occurred.
At the moment, it is known that the concrete balcony on the second floor collapsed onto the balcony on the first floor, and then the entire structure fell into the internal part of the building.
According to the owner of the house on the first floor, the previous evening, he heard the noise of falling stones, and this morning the collapse occurred.
Maintenance crews from the Limassol Municipality arrived at the scene. Once it was confirmed that no one was harmed, the repairmen started reinforcing the balconies of the adjacent building to prevent further collapses.
It is known that the collapsed building is quite old, but it underwent a recent comprehensive renovation.
