Cyclist in Limassol sentenced to prison for riding under the influence of drugs
The court in Limassol sentenced a cyclist to three months in prison for operating a vehicle under the influence of narcotic substances.
According to case documents, the man was stopped by the police during a check. A conducted test revealed the presence of drugs in his system, after which the case was forwarded to the court.
The judge noted that operating any type of vehicle under the influence of drugs poses a serious danger both to the offender and to others, regardless of whether it is a car or a bicycle.
When issuing the sentence, the court took into account the nature of the offense and the need to prevent similar cases in the future, emphasizing the importance of complying with traffic safety rules.
