25-year-old man arrested in Limassol: cannabis, pyrotechnics and a live round seized
Limassol police arrested a 25-year-old man following a check of his vehicle. The operation was carried out by officers of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) based on operational information.
During the inspection of the car, police found a hand-rolled cigarette with cannabis residue, a metal grinder containing a small amount of the drug, and electronic scales. The man was arrested at the scene for committing an offence in the act.
Later, law enforcement officers conducted a search at the suspect’s residence. The following items were found and seized:
- approximately 220 grams of cannabis,
- 20 factory-made handheld flares,
- one industrial firecracker,
- a live round for a military weapon.
The man remains in custody, while the investigation is being continued by YKAN and the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department.
