More than 25 electronic devices stolen from a primary school in Limassol

A major theft occurred at Apostolos Andreas Z’ Primary School (Apostolos Andreas Z’ Δημοτικό Σχολείο) in Limassol. Unknown individuals broke into the building at night and stole more than 25 electronic devices, including laptops and tablets used in the learning process.
The incident was discovered in the morning when school staff returned to work. According to preliminary police data, the perpetrators broke into several classrooms and quickly collected the equipment before escaping. Among the stolen items were at least 26 laptops and 10 tablets intended for use by students and teachers.
Limassol police arrived at the scene, inspected the premises, documented traces of the break-in, and began collecting evidence. Law enforcement officers are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area and questioning possible witnesses.
According to the Politis newspaper, this is not the first theft at the school — previous break-in attempts have also been recorded. Local authorities condemned the incident, noting that educational institutions are becoming increasingly vulnerable due to the lack of security and alarm systems.
The investigation is ongoing, and the amount of damage is being assessed. Police are urging residents to report any information that may help in the case.
