Military Helicopters Spotted Over Nicosia
Military helicopters were seen flying over Nicosia, prompting the Ministry of Defense to reassure the public that there was no cause for concern.
According to the ministry, the helicopters were part of joint training exercises between the National Guard and the armed forces of allied nations.
"On March 27, 2025, between 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM, military helicopters conducted training flights within the Nicosia FIR as part of joint exercises involving the National Guard and the armed forces of friendly countries," the Ministry of Defense stated.
Earlier, the General Staff of the National Guard (GSNG) had announced that several live-fire drills would take place throughout March 2025. Residents were advised not to be alarmed by the sound of gunfire.
