Suspect Arrested in Nicosia for Alleged Car Arson
In Nicosia, police arrested a suspect early Tuesday morning for allegedly setting fire to a car. He is scheduled to appear before the Nicosia District Court today.
According to the police press office, the detained individual is a 66-year-old man. He is accused of igniting a vehicle parked in an open area on May 5th, resulting in its complete destruction by fire. The suspect has been remanded in custody pending trial.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing at the Palaihori Police Station.
It's noteworthy that at the end of April, a prison guard was reportedly arrested in Cyprus on suspicion of car arson.
