Nicosia to Restore Center for Disabled Children
A contract has been signed in Nicosia for the restoration of a center dedicated to disabled children.
The agreement was signed by Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prentzos and the General Director of the contractor company, AKI Constructions Ltd.
According to a municipal statement, the project involves restoring a single-story building of 180 square meters with an adjacent yard, located in the central residential area of Ayios Dometios. The site is situated near the traditional center, between Grigori Afksentiou Avenue and Agiou Pavlou Avenue.
Originally built in the 1950s, the building was donated to the Ayios Dometios municipality by its previous owners to support social programs. The property has been vacant for the past decade.
The restoration project is expected to enhance the building's energy efficiency and create a suitable environment for children aged four to twelve. The outdoor area will be upgraded to include a playground with equipment specifically designed for children with disabilities.
This project is part of the "Thaleia 2021–2027" Cohesion Policy Program, co-financed by the European Union and managed by Ioakeim & Loiza – Architects and Engineers Ltd.
