A court in Paphos handed down a verdict to a 36-year-old man, finding him guilty of sexually abusing the underage daughter of his partner. By court decision, he was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment.
According to the case materials, the crimes occurred during the period when the girl was living together with her mother and the accused. The court deemed the man’s actions particularly grave, emphasizing the abuse of trust and the child’s vulnerable position.
In addition to the prison sentence, the court imposed a monetary fine on the girl’s mother, finding her responsible for failing to fulfill parental duties and for being unable to protect the child.
The judge noted that such crimes cause deep and long-term psychological harm and require strict punishment. The court’s decision has already entered into force.
