Security measures increased at two private schools in Paphos after shooting threats

The Paphos police have been placed on high alert after receiving emails with shooting threats on February 12 and 13, 2026, targeting two private schools in the city.
During the investigation, law enforcement determined that the messages were sent by two teenagers — a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl. They admitted that they sent the emails as a "joke," and did so twice — at the beginning and end of last week.
Despite the confessions, the police decided to strengthen preventive security measures in the schools. Parent committees have also been informed of the situation.
