In Paphos, two bikers were involved in two separate accidents: doctors are fighting for their lives
Over the weekend, Paphos witnessed two serious accidents involving motorcyclists. Both bikers sustained severe injuries, and doctors are currently fighting for their lives.
According to the police press service, the accidents occurred several hours apart. The first collision happened around 9:45 a.m. on the road in Kissonerga. A 54-year-old man was riding his motorcycle when he collided with a car under unclear circumstances.
As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist suffered severe injuries and was transported by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital. The injured individual was admitted to the intensive care unit. Doctors assess his condition as critical.
Police officers conducted an inspection at the accident scene and then arrested the 43-year-old driver of the car.
The second collision occurred two hours later, at 11:15 a.m. A 55-year-old biker riding a racing motorcycle fell off his bike, causing the vehicle to come under the wheels of a 39-year-old motorcyclist behind him.
As a result of the collision with the fallen motorcycle, the driver of the second bike sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Polis Chrysochous Hospital, and then to Paphos General Hospital. His condition is also assessed as critical.
The police continue to investigate the causes of both accidents.
