Building in Paphos resealed following complaints of drug use
In the Mouttalos area of Paphos, municipal authorities have once again sealed a building that formerly housed a social welfare centre (SKE). According to reports and social media posts, the premises have recently been used for illegal activities and drug use.
A video from inside the building appeared online showing items associated with substance use, such as spoons and empty bottles. The recording also features a young man who allegedly admits to using the space for drugs.
Acting Mayor of Paphos, Angelos Onisiforou, stated that the building had been closed since last September, but it has been broken into illegally three times already. In one instance, police found four people inside, while on another occasion, the trespassers managed to flee.
Following the latest reports, municipal services resealed the building and hermetically closed the windows. Authorities also plan to implement additional security measures.
According to Onisiforou, the possibility of using the premises for public purposes, such as housing a community organization, is being considered for the future.
