A mini-market in Paphos temporarily closed due to serious sanitary violations

In one of the districts of Paphos, the sanitary authorities temporarily suspended the operation of a mini-market after detecting serious sanitary violations. The store was closed for two days as part of intensified inspections conducted by the municipality.
According to Christos Christos, director of the municipal sanitary services of Paphos, as reported to CNA, severe violations of food storage and handling conditions were found in the store. During the inspection, staff seized and confiscated a significant amount of products, including meat, fish, and other items past their expiration dates.
Experts assessed that the confiscated products posed a potential risk to consumer health and were completely removed from the market.
Authorities urged residents of the district to exercise caution when shopping, favor licensed stores, and avoid purchasing products from unauthorized sellers.
Previously, the Paphos municipality warned that, as part of ongoing inspections, up to 3,000 enterprises in the province could face temporary closure or license revocation if sanitary and licensing violations are detected.
