The Municipality of Paralimni has installed shelters for stray cats as part of its municipal policy on animal protection and care for public spaces.

Feeding shelters have been placed at several locations:

  • at the Paralimni municipal cemetery,
  • near the Lidl supermarket in Paralimni,
  • next to the King Jason Hotel in Protaras,
  • in the Pernera area.

The municipality emphasized that the initiative aims to provide humane assistance to stray animals while respecting the environment, public order, and residents’ quality of life.

Municipal authorities urged residents to act responsibly and respectfully:

  • do not move or damage the shelters,
  • help maintain cleanliness in the areas where the shelters are installed,
  • treat public spaces with care.

The statement also notes that caring for animals reflects the level of civilization and social sensitivity of society. The municipality expressed confidence that, with residents’ cooperation, living conditions can be improved for both stray animals and the community as a whole.
