Smart Meter Installations Continue in Cyprus This Weekend – Affected Areas Announced
The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has announced that the nationwide rollout of smart meters will continue on Saturday, March 1, 2025. A list of areas where installations will take place first has been released.
According to the EAC, smart meter installations on March 1 will be carried out in the following areas:
Nicosia:
- Metochiou Kykkos area (both sides of Metochiou Street)
- Engomi
- The area between Griva Digeni Avenue and Makedonitissis Street
- The area between Griva Digeni Avenue and Kyriakos Matsis Avenue
Limassol:
- Omonia, Agios Spyridonas, and Provita areas
- The area between Misiaouli & Kavazoglou Street and Franklin Roosevelt Avenue
Larnaca:
- Larnaca Industrial Zone
- Aradippou (from the Rizoelia roundabout to the new GSZ roundabout)
Paralimni:
- The area between Giorgi Papadopoulou Street, Protaras, and Kapparis Avenue
Paphos:
- The area between Demokratias Avenue, Ellados Avenue, and Eleftherios Venizelos Avenue
The long-anticipated smart meter upgrade began on Monday, February 10, and aims to improve energy efficiency across the island. By 2028, a total of 500,000 smart meters will be installed.
The EAC has reminded residents that power supply will be temporarily interrupted during installation, but the process should not exceed 20 minutes per household.
