The director of Melios Pet Center Ltd, Menelaos Menelaou, has made serious allegations against the Cyprus government services responsible for animal protection.

According to him, the actions of officials are leading to the mistreatment and death of thousands of animals and birds under his care. Menelaou claims that he has repeatedly filed complaints with various state bodies, including ministries, the police, the Attorney General's Office, and the Presidency, but says no full investigation has followed.

He also stated that a targeted campaign is being waged against him and his company to shut down the business. The allegations include administrative pressure, bans, the dissemination of false information, and threats.

According to the entrepreneur, various restrictions, including a ban on hiring staff and obstacles to animal care, have resulted in animal deaths.

Menelaou emphasized that despite court rulings recognizing the illegality of certain actions and awarding compensation, not a single responsible person has been held accountable.

He has appealed to international organizations to intervene and conduct an independent investigation.

It is also reported that a protest is planned for April 15, 2026, where evidence and new statements regarding the case will be presented.
