Driver hospitalized after accident on Nicosia–Limassol highway

A road traffic accident occurred during the day on the Nicosia–Limassol motorway in the Kornos area.

According to the police, under circumstances yet to be determined, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car first struck the central reservation before being thrown onto the hard shoulder. As a result of the impact, parts of the vehicle were scattered across the roadway.

Emergency services arrived at the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital with injuries to receive medical assistance.

It is noted that at the time of the accident, heavy rain was falling on that section of the road, causing water accumulation on the highway and reduced visibility. Police urge drivers to exercise caution, reduce speed, and maintain a safe following distance.

The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the traffic police.
