Truck drivers have appealed to the Ministry of Transport, requesting a review of the decision to introduce a ban on overtaking for trucks on highways. The initiative group submitted the request through the POVEK union after twice unsuccessfully trying to obtain clarification by phone.

The move came after the Road Safety Council announced the upcoming introduction of restrictions and the installation of corresponding road signs. Drivers believe that a complete ban on overtaking will create traffic congestion: if a slow-moving vehicle appears in the left lane, trucks will be forced to follow it, forming long queues.

The position of the Ministry of Transport regarding the drivers’ request has not yet been announced.
