Residents of the mountainous Pitsilia area in the Limassol province express concern over a series of burglaries and thefts that have occurred in recent weeks. According to locals, incidents of home break-ins have increased in several villages, causing serious worry and a sense of insecurity.

One resident noted that people live in constant fear and sleep restlessly, fearing their home could be next. He mentioned that the situation is worsened by a lack of information and insufficient police presence in the region.

Many locals believe that after the police station was relocated to Agros, patrolling has become rare, and responses to calls have slowed. Some call on law enforcement to resume regular patrols and increase police visibility in mountainous areas to prevent further crimes.

Recently, in one of the villages, Moniatis, a robbery was reported: unknown individuals broke into a house and stole a significant amount of gold and cash. This incident served as another warning to local communities that the problem is becoming systemic.

Residents demand that authorities take immediate measures, enhance security, and restore trust in law enforcement. In their view, without decisive action, the situation could escalate into a crisis, with fear and hopelessness turning into distrust and aggression.
