Armed robbery in the rural area of Cyprus
In a rural area of Cyprus, an elderly couple was subjected to an armed attack. According to police, an unknown man knocked on the door of a temporary residential house, and when the owners opened it, he forced them inside at knifepoint.
The house was occupied by a 73-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman. The attacker stole cash and two mobile phones before fleeing the scene.
Fortunately, the victims did not sustain any physical injuries. Nevertheless, as a precaution, they were taken to Larnaca General Hospital, where doctors examined them and released them home.
Later, the police recovered both stolen mobile phones near the house. The search for the suspect continues, and the circumstances of the attack are under investigation.
Law enforcement authorities urge residents, especially in rural areas, to exercise increased caution and not to open doors to strangers without necessity.
