Seven people detained overnight across Cyprus: police conducted large-scale raids
The Cyprus Police conducted large-scale organized patrols across the country aimed at preventing serious crime, maintaining public order, and strengthening the sense of security among citizens.
As a result of the preventive operations, seven people were detained on various charges, including robbery, accessory after the fact to a serious crime, and drug-related offenses.
During the night raids:
- 326 vehicles were checked;
- 427 people were searched;
- 32 inspections of establishments and premises were conducted;
- 149 traffic violations were recorded;
- 8 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol were detected;
- a total of 109 breathalyzer tests were performed;
- 7 vehicles were seized (impounded).
The police emphasized that such coordinated operations will continue daily with an increased officer presence, targeted checks, and rapid response to ensure public safety.
