Prison Guard Arrested for Car Arson in Cyprus
In Cyprus, a prison guard has been arrested on suspicion of setting fire to a car. The vehicle caught fire early Monday morning.
According to the police press office, the fire broke out around 4:20 a.m. in Strovolos. When the police began investigating, a suspicious car was noticed in the area.
Police stopped the car and found a balaclava, a pair of gloves, and a bottle containing traces of flammable liquid inside. It turned out that the driver was a prison guard. The man has been arrested.
According to local media reports, the prison guard also intended to set another fire in the park in the same area. It is reported that the police believe this man may be involved in other arson cases.
