Nineteen Fires Break Out in Cyprus Within 24 Hours
The Cyprus Fire Service responded to 35 emergency calls in the past 24 hours, including 19 fires and 16 incidents requiring rescue operations. In two cases, residential buildings had to be evacuated.

According to a fire service spokesperson, a fire broke out around 2:08 AM in the Drosia area of Larnaca, engulfing two parked cars. Two firefighting crews were dispatched to the scene. The vehicles sustained significant damage, and as a precaution, residents of nearby homes were evacuated.
Another major incident occurred at 6:16 AM in Nicosia, where a fire started in a small storage area inside a takeaway restaurant. The blaze damaged stored goods, part of the kitchen counter, the paintwork, electrical equipment, and kitchen utensils.
Due to heavy smoke, firefighters carried out a precautionary evacuation of residents living in apartments above the shop. The fire was caused by an overheated deep fryer.
