Famagusta Resident Arrested for Stabbing in Village Coffee Shop
Cypriot police have arrested a 46-year-old resident of a village in the Famagusta district after he stormed into a local coffee shop and stabbed a man. He is charged with causing bodily harm and carrying a weapon with the intent to incite terror.
According to the police press office, the incident was reported to law enforcement by a 41-year-old resident of the same village in the Famagusta district. The victim stated that around 12:30 PM on the same day, while he was in a café in his village, he was attacked by the 46-year-old man, who allegedly stabbed him.
Following the attack, the victim sought medical attention at Larnaca General Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with cuts on his ear, shoulder, and forearm. After receiving first aid, the injured man reported the incident to the police.
A court-issued arrest warrant was obtained for the suspect, and he was taken into custody last night to assist in the investigation.
